Having an easier way to mute them would solve that. I wish mute had its own button, but that's the only negative.
What I didn't know is just how amazing they sound. The quality of sound that comes out of these speakers is really amazing and very clear - especially considering how affordable they are.
I bought these speakers because they were affordable, don't take up much space, and look really cute. I also don't have any problems with the volume buttons.
I don't have any problems with the bass being too low, I live in an apartment and wouldn't want to disturb my neighbors. I have the bass turned all the way down and it still sounds great.
The speakers make noise when they are powered and you touch the sound plug, like when I plug them into my MacBook. Overall, I'm very impressed by these speakers and highly recommend them.
For $65 these are good little speakers. These sell for over $100. I liked mine so much I bought one in every color and gave them out as gifts. Don't pay that. Surf around and pay more like $65. They don't play VERY loud but loud enough. If you have children with iPods this would make a great gift.
I stumbled across these, and read some of the other reviews. JBL has always done a nice job of designing nice, home/office speaker systems. Unfortunately, JBL discontinued the creature speakers, so I had to set out to find another speaker system for my iMac. Recently my JBL Creature II speakers decided to die on me, so was looking for a replacement. In the end, I'm happy. They work fine for what I need, which is really just to enjoy music as I work on the computer.
While they don't sound as good as the creature speakers they're replacing, they're not bad.
They were generally positive.

I really was happy with my creature speakers, and had actually planned on purchasing another set.
This one is no different.
Although I liked the design of the creatures better, the spyro isn't bad.
I actually like how the speakers themselves are not exposed, as my son had fun pushing in the speakers (which may have been why they stopped working).In the end, I've been very happy with the Spyros.
The price tag wasn't bad either, although I did get it for about $60.
If you're in the market for speakers, these are the ones to get.
It is cute and the sound is OK. The power supply is a piece of junk and it stops funtioning after 2 uses.
I purchased these for my office and the decor is great and the sound is great. These speakers are great at producing full sound at low volume levels.
